Since 2012 Custer County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) has been assisting businesses in Westcliffe and Silver Cliff through business education and assistance to Custer County.

The CCEDC is a catalyst for building relationships and businesses because our members are the community and regional leaders. By attracting new employers and providing our community businesses with information, resources and professional networks, we continue reaching our goal of creating a sustainable and balanced community.

We support the growth and resiliency of small businesses by providing free confidential business consulting, practical workshops & events and connection to resources, including how to obtain financing. Our consulting experts work in partnership to provide entrepreneurs with crucial information that can mean the difference between success and failure.     Charles Bogle

    Founder and President

    Charles Bogle, founder and president of CCEDC, brings a personal history of achievement, demonstrated through his civilian, industry and military accomplishments.

    After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, he progressed from test engineer with a major aerospace company to senior manager of a major aerospace weapons system, with both domestic and foreign support requirements. As a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, with 30 years of active and reserve service, he proved himself in combat as an armed helicopter pilot in Vietnam. In the U.S. Army Reserves, he successfully accomplished important staff assignments and eight years of command in varied disciplines, culminating in the rank of colonel before his retirement.

    Charles lives in rural Custer County, Colorado where he has continued to be active in representing his community. He is a charter member of the local American Legion Post, where he has held a number of local, regional and state-level positions.

    For much of his time in Custer County, he has been active in whatever level of economic development existed under county support, and he was the primary initiator of the current non-governmental economic development corporation, founded in July 2012. He is dedicated to improving the community’s economic strength and stability.

    Ellen Glover

    Community Outreach Coordinator

    Ellen Glover brings more than 35 years of experience to the Custer County Economic Development Corporation as a senior writer, editor and communications professional with experience in community outreach and public affairs. She is a senior writer, editor and communications professional, and most recently was the community outreach and resource planning specialist for the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division in San Antonio. She has expertise in developing communication and outreach plans and designing and writing materials for the general public, media relations and Web content management.
