The Custer County Economic Development Strategic Plan
Custer County has received a grant to create an economic development Strategic Plan. The purpose of the Strategic Plan is to create a clearer picture of what the community's economic development objectives should be. The project will help the County (1) formulate an economic vision, (2) identify what type of economic development is appropriate for Custer County, and (3) what Action will be needed to implement the vision.
Generally speaking, economic development can be thought of as anything that improves the monetary resources of Custer County: employment, expanding current business, attracting new business, capital projects (usually infrastructure like roads, fiber optic cable, water, sewer), primary employment (jobs that bring in money from outside the area), and recreation to draw in tourists.
We want to hear from you! We created a survey to get your thoughts on economic development. The survey is anonymous: no individual person or business will be quoted when we report the summary results of the survey, and it only takes 7 minutes! CLICK HERE to take the survey - and thank you for making Custer County a better place to live, work and play!
And please plan on attending our three community meetings:
Meeting 1 (Overview of Plan, process and survey)
Meeting 2 (Create the Vision for Economic Development)
Meeting 3 (DRAFT Economic Development Strategic Plan)
Stay tuned for locations and times!
